65 years after the Soviet ultimatum addressed to the Romanian authorities, the President of Romania, Traian Băsescu, firmly condems the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact which led to the annexation of Basarabia and the North of Bucovina by the USSR.
President Traian Băsescu considers that Romania cannot ignore the sufferings endured by our brothers across the Prut as a result of those serious historic events.
President of Romania bows, with respect, in front of the people that had to learn to live day by day in sufferance, ranging from the sufferance of being separated from their families to the one of being rooted up from their language and people.
