THE HAGUE, 15 August 2008. The International Court of Justice (ICJ), principal judicial organ of the United Nations, will hold public hearings concerning the proceedings instituted by Georgia against Russia, from Monday 8 to Wednesday 10 September 2008, at the Peace Palace in The Hague, seat of the Court.

The hearings will be devoted to the request for the indication of provisional measures submitted by Georgia (see Press Release No. 2008/23 of 12 August 2008 and 2008/24 of 14 August 2008).

Schedule for the hearings

First round of oral argument

Monday 8 September 2008
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. : Georgia
3 p.m. – 6 p.m. : Russia

Second round of oral argument

Tuesday 9 September 2008
4.30 p.m. – 6 p.m. : Georgia

Wednesday 10 September 2008
4.30 p.m. – 6 p.m. : Russia
