just one small thing ....there is a growing number of small Indian restaurants in downtown dc...i know at least 4 that opened in the last 3-4 years due to a growing number of IT professionals from India working downtown. The food they offer is authentic and good (they sometimes do not even bother or do not know how to translate the names of the dishes they serve :)... of course, those are primarily lunch places...
P.S. Americans may not discriminate between Pakistani and Indian; while those from India and Pakistan do...for obvious reasons.
