The second part of the article studies three response types by audiences involving respectively morality, irony and play. The shift from the first to the third shows how audiences have moved on to a post-modern attitude. Typical of post-modernism is the creation of cult series, which in Russia cannot enjoy the support of merchandizing. Instead, they rely on a corpus of jokes about Stirlitz. These jokes undermine the series' ideological content, reassert the series' value through humour, which allows viewers to accept its weaknesses, and they model it on the new standards of American series (humour and action). The coming about of this cult reveals an attempt at (re-)organizing a community destroyed by widening social inequality, particularly as concerns access to culture.

À ïî÷åìó êóëüòîâûå ñåðèàëû åñòü ïðèçíàê ïîñòìîäåðíèçìà, à êóëüòîâûå ïèñàòåëè êîììåð÷åñêèõ ðîìàíîâ XIX âåêà - íåò?
Âñå îñòàëüíîå â òîì æå äóõå:

Óâà. Àíîíèìíûå àâòîðû àíåêäîòîâ ïðî Øòèðëèöà, îêàçûâàåòñÿ, ñëåäîâàëè àìåðèêàíñêîé ìîäå.
Êðîìå òîãî, àâòîðû íå óäîñóæèëèñü èçó÷èòü ñâîé ïðåäìåò; êðîåì àíåêäîòîâ ïðî Øòèðëèöà, áûëè åùå àíåêäîòû ïðî Øåðëîêà Õîëìñà è ×àïàåâà.
Ïðè ýòîì, ÷òî äîâîëüíî õàêòåðíî , êîðïóñà àíåêäîòîâ ïðî ïåðñîíàæåé ôèëüìîâ ïðàêòè÷åñêè íå ïåðåñåêàþòñÿ - òî åñòü àíåêäîòè÷åñêèé Øòèðëèö îáëàäàåò îïðåäåëåííîé èíäèâèäóàëüíîñòüþ.
Ñ îäíîé ñòîðîíû, Øòèðëèö - ãåðîé ãðàììàòèêè è ñîçâó÷èé. "Ëàìïà ãîðåëà, íî ñâåòà íå äàâàëà..." Èëè òàì "Õîôìàí äàë Øòèðëèöó ïîäïèñêó..."
Ñ äðóãîé ñòîðîíû - è ýòî ðàññóæäåíèå ïðèíàäëåæèò Ìàéå Êàãàíñêîé - àíåêäîòû çàïîëíÿþò ëàêóíû â òåëåôèëüìå. Êàê èçâåñòíî, ê âðàãàì ðåéõà Øòèðëèö áûë áåñïîùàäåí. Õîòÿ ôèëüì ïûòàåòñÿ óâåðèòü íàñ â îáðàòíîì, àíåêäîò ïîäòâåðæäàåò: "èäÿ ïî êîðèäîðó, Øòèðëèö ïîäíÿë ãëàçà: ýòî áûëè ãëàçà ïàñòîðà Øëàãà".
Äðóãàÿ íåìàëîâàæíàÿ ëàêóíà - ýòî ñâÿçü Øòèðëèöà ñ ÑÑÑÐ. Ôèëüì ïåðåïîëíåí ôëàøáåêàìè; îäíàêî âñå îíè îòíîñÿòñÿ ê ãåðìàíñêîé æèçíè ïîëêîâíèêà Èñàåâà. À ïðî ÑÑÑÐ èçâåñòíî òîëüêî ÷òî òàì æèâåò Þñòàñ. Ñîîòâåòñòâåííî, àíåêäîò çàïîëÿåò ïóñòîòû. "Øòèðëèö çàøåë â êàáèíåò, çàïåð äâåðü, âûñìîðêàëñÿ â ïîðòüåðó, îòêðûë ñåéô è âûíóë îòòóäà áóòûëêû âîäêè è îãóðåö. Åìó õîòåëîñü õîòÿ áû ðàç â ãîäó ïî÷óâñòâîâàòü ñåáÿ ïîëêîâíèêîì Èñàåâûì".
