автор не дурак, и его рассуждения отличаются в выгодную сторону от большинства авторов, которые пасутся на бв-тематике в западных сми. однако эта мозаика сложена из мильона элементов, и он выбирает из них только те, что позволят ему создать красивый, хорошо читающийся текст. а эта мозаика гораздо шире красивых текстов. она не красива и бесформенна
снова какой-то бред про "базы" и якобы взыскуемое влияние на бв в формах и контурах, которых отродясь не было
и ни слова, напрмиер, про турцию и виды россии и на собственно турков и на курдов

Nope. The leftists (and their neocon brethren) are actively trying to create the image of Russia (and Putin as its personification) as the hybrid between new USSR and Nazi Germany, Hillary Clinton actually said (on record) that Putin can be compared to Hitler.

The American progressives need some credible external enemy to cover up their total failure in achieving their stated foreign policy objectives. Putin looks adequately macho to fit the bill - nobody believes the "sheepherders with AKs are the grave threat to our national security" spiel anymore. And fucking with Chinese is too dangerous because China can crash the entire house of cards the very next day, by simply off-loading their T-bills at once, and because nobody actually understands Chinese politics. Russia can't do much economic damage by the virtue of being much less integrated with the West, and "Putin wants to re-create USSR" is easy to sell to people who can't think for themselves.

Ironically, this did make Putin somewhat of a hero to ordinary American rednecks.

So, yes, this is totally left-right issue. Just not GOP-Dems issue, these parties differing only in the bullshit they spew.
