borislvinThe axis of power is shifting from West to East as visionary leadership is surpassing democratic governance as key to stability and prosperity, former French president Nicolas Sarkozy told the Abu Dhabi Ideas Weekend forum.
Mr Sarkozy was the final speaker to address the forum hosted by Tamkeen and The Aspen Institute at New York University Abu Dhabi, touching on themes of globalisation, leadership and Brexit.
“Where you see a great leader, there is no populism,” said Mr Sarkozy, who was president of France from 2007 to 2012. “Where is the populism in China? Where is the populism here? Where is the populism in Russia? Where is the populism in Saudi Arabia? If the great leadership leaves the table, the populist leaders come and replace him.”
Modern democracy “destroys” leaderships, he said, noting some of the world’s greatest leaders today come largely from undemocratic governments.
“How could we have a democracy and at the same time accept leadership?” Mr Sarkozy asked the audience. “How can we have a vision that could look into 10, 15, 20 years and at the same time have an election rhythm in the States, for instance, every four years? The great leaders of the world come from countries that are not great democracies.”

Date: 2018-03-07 11:25 pm (UTC)Неужели хоть что-то из сказанного мной за те уже немалые годы, что я публично пишу в ЖЖ и до того, может навести на мысль, будто я способен усомниться в праве экспертов (или кого угодно вообще) обсуждать чью-то политику (или что угодно вообще)?
И неужели из всего сказанного мной не вполне очевидно, что понятие "хорошая политика" и "плохая политика" - напрямую завязаны на индивидуальные предпочтения людей, то есть что любая политика кому-то всегда кажется хорошей, а кому-то плохой?
Наконец, неужели вы всерьез могли предположить, что мнение какого угодно электората по какому бы то ни было поводу может иметь для меня значение в плане моей собственной оценки тех вопросов и персонажей, по которым проводится голосование?
Я в полной растерянности.

Date: 2018-03-07 11:34 pm (UTC)Относите ли вы себя к тем "экспертам-специалистам", которые "жалуются, что глупые люди покупают не те железяки и пользуются не тем софтом, который по их, экспертов-специалистов, мнению, лучше. И музыку не ту слушают, и одеваются неправильно, и еду едят не ту." И голосуют не за тех кандидатов на выборах.

Date: 2018-03-08 04:30 am (UTC)мне представляется что "плохая политика" бывает, вне зависимости от предпочтений разных групп населения. это когда ее проводят люди недостаточной квалификации, или когда не на своем месте человек, или когда коррупция, или случайное стечение обстоятельcтв делает результат противоположным задуманому
вот прям по теме Вашего основного поста, мне представляется Брекзит примером плохой политики. т.е. стремление выйти из ЕС вполне может быть здравым и может быть как Вы пишете политикой кому-то хорошей, а кому-то плохой. но вот тот конкретный вариант который случился, когда неожиданно для всех окружающих и для себя самих британцы вдруг проголосовали за этот выход и срочно надо что то делать никто не знает что -- он мне выглядит плохой, неэффективной политикой
