borislvinОн, конечно, грубый, неглубокий, самовлюбленный, высокомерный, несдержанный на язык, не вникает в детали. Ну и так далее.
Но много ли сегодня на нашей планете политических лидеров, которые готовы подписаться под такого рода словами и публично их произносить? Собственно, много ли вообще было таких лидеров за последние двадцать лет? Пятьдесят лет?

Socialism promises prosperity, but it delivers poverty.
Socialism promises unity, but it delivers hatred and it delivers division. Socialism promises a better future, but it always returns to the darkest chapters of the past. That never fails. It always happens.
Socialism is a sad and discredited ideology rooted in the total ignorance of history and human nature, which is why socialism, eventually, must always give rise to tyranny, which it does. Socialists profess a love of diversity, but they always insist on absolute conformity.
We know that socialism is not about justice, it’s not about equality, it’s not about lifting up the poor. Socialism is about one thing only: power for the ruling class. And the more power they get, the more they crave. They want to run healthcare, run transportation and finance, run energy, education - run everything.
They want the power to decide who wins and who loses, who’s up and who’s down, what’s true and what’s false, and even who lives and who dies.
In short, all of us here today know that there is nothing less democratic than socialism. Everywhere and anywhere it appears, socialism advances under the banner of progress, but in the end, it delivers only corruption, exploitation, and decay.

Перехожу к самому вопросу — по налогам и вообще деньгам, забираемым правительствами.
Специально никогда не интересовался, но время от времени цифирки всякие попадались. С удивлением обнаруживал, что очень разные страны оказывались неожиданно очень похожи в том, что забирают у людей где-то половину их заработков — если учитывать обычный набор "честных способов отъёма денег": налоги разных уровней и что-то вроде обязательных собес-сборов/отчислений. (Конечно, есть ещё корпоративные налоги, но "разверстать" их на работающих — отдельная задача.) Естественно возникло сомнение: а был ли мальчик? Действительно ли во многих, причём разных, странах правительство забирает около половины денег (даже если только "во временное пользование") у, скажем так, основного «тяглого населения»? Или у той его части, что хорошо зарабатывает? В этом собственно и вопрос.
(Я не уточнял, что такое "около половины", ибо цифроедски вопрос не ставлю. Вопрос скорее о масштабах явления.)
А если есть какой-то общераспространённый уровень (масштаб) изъятия денег правительствами, то напрашиваются разные гипотезы космической значимости.
